GLS greatly expands network of Parcel Points thanks to partnership with PostNL

GLS Netherlands is significantly expanding its network of Parcel Points through cooperation with PostNL. PostNL has opened its automated parcel lockers to other transport companies and, since March, consumers can go to the same automated parcel locker for both GLS Netherlands and PostNL parcels. GLS deliveries can therefore not only be delivered to the 800 GLS Parcel Shops, but now they can also be delivered to the nearly 1,100 automated parcel lockers from the PostNL network in the Netherlands. This more than doubles the number of Parcel Points available to GLS customers. With the expansion, GLS Netherlands offers improved coverage, for more flexibility and choice in delivery methods.

GLS Netherlands to robotise parcel processing with ROSI

Parcel service GLS Netherlands in collaboration with robotic systems integrator AWL, has installed a new robotic solution at its Utrecht sorting centre. The Robotic Singulator, named ROSI, recently started working on processing and sorting mini-parcels on the conveyor belt. This implementation is not only the first step in a wider project aimed at increasing parcel processing efficiency, but also the very first installation within GLS Group. Moreover, this is one of the first times ROSI has been implemented worldwide.

PostNL automated parcel lockers now open to GLS Netherlands

PostNL is opening its automated parcel lockers to other carriers. GLS Netherlands is the first carrier to start using this network. From March, consumers will be able to use the same automated parcel lockers for parcels from PostNL as well as from GLS Netherlands.
